I sleep too much because I have so much anixety(Generalized anixety disorder)?


and I dont know how to cope with it or with my life. I see a theparist and Im on anti-anxiety medication, I also have insomina and I take trazdone for that( to sleep). Prior to taking trazdone my sleeping patterns where the same as in I would overslept, even for two days in a row or just miss work or class or plans , everything, I hate being nervous all the time and nothing helps! My ANIXETY IS KILLING ME !! someone please help??

I can suggest two things in addition to medication

1) drink chamomile tea. It has a calming effect, and helps soothe the nerves.

2) do more exercise. Exercise is a natural stress reliever.

You must be on the wrong anti-anxiety medicine or either the wrong dose.

omg i have the same thing. the only difference is that im almost over it, and the fact that im 12. i worry about projects and stuff and every time something that would normally only slightly disturb someone makes me all lightheaded and this cold sweat comes. I hate it. i cant sleep either. i just panic and suddenly tears pour out and i cant stop. it just feels sort of good to cry it out. but now im almost over. try deep breathing or sports. and exercise. spend time with friends, talk alot, dont b alone so much. i talk to my frineds, and i feel like this safe, calmness come over. therapists wont help
you dont know them, u cant trust them. spend time with ur friends and work off that adrenaline

When I was going through a period of severe anxiety, I actually did yoga and had accupunture treatments that would help relieve some of it. It's not a cure all of course, but it might help you. If you have never done it before...it doesn't hurt.

the meds you are on will cause you to sleep, maybe you need a medication adjustment.

Also, try to lighten your load until you feel under better control.

You may like to see a psychiatrist and a counsellor.

Try deep breathing. It is known to work. Breathe through your diaphragm and feel your body beginning to relax. Your stomach should rise and fall slowly. have about 5 breaths in one minute. Breathe deeply whenever you feel anxious.

Think "What is the worst thing that can happen to me?" Very often, the worst does not happen. Tell yourself good things are happening to you, and it will happen.

Tell yourself "Peace." Say it 10 to 20 times. Tell yourself "Relax."

Most importantly, pray to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus loves you and has a plan for you. He wants to fulfil a good future for you. He wants to save you from your sins. Read the Bible, Acts 2:38, John 3:16 Meditate on the Bible and you will naturally feel calmer. God does not want disaster to happen to you. He gives you a hope and a future.

Join a church (try United Pentecostal church). Talk to friends. Take a walk. Exercise and you will feel better.

Have a good sleep pattern. Google to find how to "sleep better". "Tips on better sleep."
