Sleep Disorder Involving Biting?

Sleep Disorder Involving Biting?
I have done strange things while asleep and sometimes wake myself up or someone else wakes me up. But, I am always dreaming of someone attacking me and my body physically acts out these things:

such as me biting my arm continuously, yelling and screaming, kicking in the air, and crying, feeling intense emotion from anger to fear, etc.

*Why is this happening?
*And what sleep disorder involves biting oneself?
*Does this happen to anyone else...biting?
*I have been searching everywhere but have found nothing

There's no sleep disorder specific to biting oneself - this type of behavior is an example of a more general type of sleep disorder called a parasomnia - where someone acts out a physical activity when they are dreaming. There are a variety of parasomnias, and the one that fits your situation is called REM sleep behavior disorder. I have occasional problems with this.
I broke several bones in my foot once while i was asleep, dreaming that is was kicking a soccer goal, and i kicked the wall with everything i had.. If i kicked that hard when i was awake, i would have been a pro.

go to your family Dr and ask for a referral to a sleep clinic.
there are many sleeping disorders, and you are trying to diagnose yourself. This is hard:best to leave it to the professionals.
Im wondering if you are having recurring nightmares about being attacked:were you ever attacked, raped, kidnapped?
did anyone attempted to attack or to kidnap you?
you may suffer from PTSD.
google PTSD,maybe that's what you have?

I've never heard of this one. I think it's time to see your doctor. If you don't have insurance and you don't need a referral from your primary doctor, go straight to a psychiatrist. Not because you're crazy! (that's just an old stigma!) They are the smartest doctors. They go to school an extra 4 years.
If you were my daughter, sister, or any loved one, I'd tell you to skip all the other kinds of doctors and just go straight to the best; a psychiatrist.
Bless you and good luck! :)

I would try a hynotherapist that can help you get into your subconscious and see what the root is. A psychiatrist will give you drugs if you prefer that, and a psychologist might help figure out if your emotional state is causing these dreams and why.
