Has anyone had a prob/know of this sleeping disorder?

As a teen i would often wake up completely during the night but be physically paralysed. It used to scare the hell out of me because i couldn't call for help or do anything about it. I eventually learned to relax and go back to sleep and when i woke up next i'd be fine. Thankfully i havent had it in a while but i'd like to know what it is or what caused it

I'm 50 now. I used to have exactly the same kind of dreams. It was really scary. Gradually I had this till I was about 16 then it went away. Myself or my parents could never figure out the reason.

I think you will grow out of it too. If at all possible, don't sleep too far away from where the other family members sleep. During that time my room was next to my parents' room.
Its called "Astral travel" when the spirit leaves the body to do and explore other things and demension in this life and others. look it up on the net for more details about it. Once your spirit leaves or is gone for a period of time the body will sometimes awaken without it in another realm of unconsciousness until it returns and it normally returns after you fall back asleep!

Its funny because I had that problem as a kid and it us to scare me to death! sometimes I hear things or feel someone touching me but my body be paraylzed to the point of not being able to move and I would speak out and scream and cry but know one could here me even laying next to me! and sometimes I would wake up abruptly out of the blue with my heart racing with feelings of panic to follow leaving me afraid to return to bed but that was my spirit return abrupty from me awakening without shortly. When you sleep through it, you don't notice or wake-up abrupty but that's after you except and understand it in stead of fear it... flying dreams or falling are often indications of astral travel.

I discovered this ten years ago studing astrology which lead to other fields of study.
you should check with your doctor.
