Reasons why we should allow people to smoke in public places??

I just want to know al least 3 reason why we should allow people to smoke in public places??

I think that smokers should not smoke in public places.

Yeah, I hate it too. I don't want to live in a Cancerous Environment. =[

I can only think of two reasons.

1. They paid their own money for it, so they should be allowed.

2. A decade ago, smokers probably found smoking as an acceptable habit. So it's probably hard for them to be told that they can't smoke. What if shampooing your hair was proven to be a dangerous habit? You would probably still do it, anyways.

we shouldn't i don't mind people who smoke when around me but some people do..why affect their health?

mmmmmmmmmm.....

Nope, can't find a reason. I just don't like smokers, well..the smoke itself just kills it(no pun intended)

because they spend lots of money on their ciggarettes

Three?? I can't even think of ONE!

Nobody cared years ago, some states still allow it, and they give you the option smoking and non smoking.

It could be said that it's an infrigement on rights not to let them smoke. They're partaking in a legal substance in a public place......if someone didn't want to be exposed to second-hand smoke, they could leave the public place.

I have 3 reasons why not.

1. It's unfair to people who chose not to smoke, to have to breathe it in anyway

2. It's unhealthy for everyone

3. No one likes going home smelling like ****, even if you are a smoker.

There is no reason why they should be smoking in public. A lot of people try hard to have good health and are worthy or breathing fresh clean air when they go to public places. AND some people are allergic to it.

If you're talking about a public building, there's no reason. If you're talking about a public street, there's no reason to stop them. You're free to not be near someone who's smoking in the street.

(I'm not a smoker.)

We shouldn't.

If other people choose to smoke that is their own business; other people should not be forcibly subjected to it though, especially small children.

If I were pregnant I would not want to be anywhere near a smoker or secondhand smoke.

Also, I tend to get some bad allergic reactions to the toxins and other garbage that are found in cigarette smoke. This makes my eyes water, my sinus cavities clogged and my throat swollen. Give me clean air at least!

People should have a right to smoke of course, but not in public places (like restaurants or parks) and definitely not at building entrances!! Not only would I rather not breathe it but I don't want to smell like it either.

I think there should be designated smoking areas, away from common areas.

1) Cigarettes are infectious, addicting, and bad for your health whether you smoke it or not. It all matters because you are near the smoker.
2) It can cause fires (although very rare, it still does)
3) People toss cigarettes on the street which is also littering in my opinion.
4) It smells bad and it makes you cough and/or makes your eyes hurt.
5) It's bad for your eye contacts (if you wear them; I do)
6) It's a public area, people walk there, so do pregnant women, child, people with asthma, etc.
7) Public place or not, you shouldn't even smoke at home!
8) It's a waste of money.
9) Most people do not want to visit a home or buy stuff from a home that has a smoker living in there.
10) It's a waste of time too. You could be smoking for 5 minutes and could have done something else.

Also I find peoples' defenses about "leaving the public place" very strange. There are many smokers in my high school campus. So if they were to smoke there (even though they aren't allowed to) Why should I have to move? Why can't they move? If I was in a park walking my dog, playing with my kids or waiting for someone, why should I move? Smoke somewhere else. If I was in a public bathroom and some idiot was smoking, and I was using the toilet, how can I move? Ever thought about the smoke coming to you when the wind comes and blows it? It happens, so even though I'm not near the smoker, the smoke catches up to you somehow.
