Does smoking decrease the effectiveness of birth control? No.... but it dramatically increases your risk of developing a Blood Clot... No but it really increases the chances you'll get a blood clot. It's quite unsafe to smoke while on the pill. No, but it does increase your risk for heart attack. Avoid smoking cigarettes while taking birth control pills. Smoking greatly increases the risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot. I am yet to hear that it decreases the effectiveness of the BC pills. Hope I helped! Also, smoking combined with birth control increase your chances of a blood clot, which can lead to a stroke, which is very dangerous. In any case, smoking doesnt lead to anything good.
