Can you drink or smoke when on birth control?

Are you able to drink and smoke weed when you are on birth control? If not what will happen to you if you do smoke weed or drink?

You can drink........smoking weed is not good. Smoking can increase your risk of blood clots.

There is no correlation whatsoever between smoking (whatever), drinking alcohol and the effectiveness of birth control pills - you can drink and smoke all you like and it won't affect your birth control (that is of course unless you get so stoned or drunk that you forget to take the pill).

The health risks associated with smoking and drinking are well known and exist regardless of all other considerations. Throw weed into the scenario and the risks simply increase and diversify into potential psychotic ramifications.

Like most things in life, if you absolutely MUST indulge, then moderation is probably the key.

Drinking has no effect on birth control. The only way it can effect it is if you are so drunk that you forget to take your pill.

Smoking cigarettes doesn't change the effectiveness of the pill. However, it greatly increases the risk of blood clots, which can cause a heart attack. So unless you want to risk a heart attack or even a terribly swollen leg, you will have to choose between smoking and the pill.

As far as weed goes, I don't think any studies have been done. I would imagine that since it isn't a stimulant like tobacco, you won't have the risk of blood clots.

It's not recommended that you smoke anything while on bcp, but I guess smoking weed's harmful enough.

If you have bcp, just check the package.

Smoking while on the pill is not advised as it increases the risks of strokes and other side effects. Drinking doesn't affect the pill. Weed? Well it may or may not affect yoru hormones which are also affected by the pill.

I was a non smoker, healthy, fit, and had a stroke from the pill. They are NOT risk free.

yeah, you can drink and smoke out. it doesn't effect the hormonal fluctuations of birth control. you just have to not be drunk enough or high enough to forget to take your pills...then hello baby.

you can drink and smoke on bc.. it will not harm you in anyway,besides what it can do to you when you do it when you are not on bc...so have fun..live life to the fullist..your only young once girl

I wouldn't smoke or drink. Each Birth Control has suggestions like some say you can smoke some say you shouldn't.

there's nothing wrong with smokeing weed while on the pill...i do it, and my friends do it. We're all ok.

its a bad combo.. u will probably get herbitis..a common condition with birth controll and weed.

u really shouldnt...the chances of getting a blood clot greatly increase when smoking or drinking
