What cigarette brand was most upper class women of the 50s smoked?

and is it still available today
i like the smell of marlboro are there any brandes that are a little more feminine

Salem's were. You can still get them here in the U.S.
Chesterfields and Lucky Strikes as well, but they were discontinued here. You can get them in Europe still or over the internet.

Both those brands are still available in the U.S., both in filtered and non-filtered form. The non-filters were popular in the 50s, but are pretty rare anymore.

I might also add that if you like the flavor of Marlboro cigarettes, you might want to try Marlboro 100's as the longer length is typically considered more feminine.

Well the virginia slims have always been a "feminine" type. You can still buy on line cigarette holders which always looked elegant.... as for the gitanes, you cant purchase them in a store here in the US however you can purchase them on line for about $17 dollars a carton and they take about 3-4 weeks to get here.... hope that helps
