I quit smoking 4 months ago and now im having a problem with weight..... I can't seem to lose...? |
Question Details: It has been 4 months and I have gained 20 pounds.... it seems as though right now my weight is stable, its been a couple of weeks and I haven't gained or lost anything. I started to do weight watchers and now I've gained 2 pounds this week.... seriously I feel like I cant eat at all or that if I eat any carbs I will gain weight overnight........ has anyone had this problem?? weight gain is common when quitting smoking, because of the oral fixation aspect of smoking. Try to keep carrot or celery sticks around to snack on. Remember, if you go back to smoking you could lose the weight of a lung (or worse). I've been off cigs for 5 years now. The health benefits of quitting are worth a few extra pounds. Good Luck. Most people put on weight after they stop smoking but It's possible stopping smoking might effect your metabolism? Slow it down maybe so it's harder to lose weight and easier to put it on... it is a temporary phase. it will go away. actually all your organs are coming back to normal. chew on soya nuts if u want. but dont start smolking again! forget the weight. this way u will look better any day! part of the withdrawl same with me this is a common complaint |
