I started smoking again, and lost 12 pounds? |
I'm actually really scared, and don't want to lose weight. My doctor says I'm fine, but I'm beginning to think he doesn't know what he's talking about... Is that normal? Nicotine actually acts as an "appetite killer", which may be causing you to not eat as much (which is why some women smoke to lose weight). Try taking in more "healthy" calories, and I know this is really, really hard, but do your best to stop smoking. It can cause so many health problems that could be prevented. I've never smoked before, but I'm a third year psychology student and covered a lot of "stop smoking" strategies in my health psychology class...if you want to hear about them you can totally e-mail me. Good luck! Hey Tiff, you are ok, it is normal to lose weight when you start smoking, but your doctor doesn't know what he is talking about, because he should have told you to STOP smoking! Nicotine is a stimulant and will increase your metabolism and cause you to burn calories more than normal. When people stop smoking sometime they will gain weight. Stop smoking honey, no good will come from it. Honey, stop smoking. I don't know how old you are but I do know that in a few years it will make you look older than you actually are. I have a sister in law that smokes and is only a year or two older than me but she looks ten years older, not to mention all the other health problems it could cause. Have you been eating normally? Because sometimes smoking curbs you hunger, so that could be why. Just make sure you eat normally Quit smoking! What doctor would say that's fine? |
