I recently started smoking...?

I started smoking fairly regularly about 2 weeks ago. I am on birth control and I just learned how dangerous it is to smoke, so I will be stopping soon.

Basically, I have had a very regular period for the last 6 months I have been on Yaz. I started my period around the normal time, but it completely stopped after 2 days.

I was just wondering if maybe the smoking was the cause of this?

I have been wellllllllllllllll aware of how dangerous smoking is. I just meant I learned the side effects of it while on birth control. I am definitely not addicted either and I already threw my cigarettes away. I am more concerned about my PERIOD BEING THROWN OFF.

very probably, do not stop "soon", stop now, you literally risk your life....the potential for blood clots and stroke is huge.....and a stroke may not kill you, but leave you a vegetable in a wheelchair for life....you want to risk that for a cigarette?

your doctor is mistaken caitlin, I have personally cared for four stroke patients, females, 18, 24, 22 and 20, all who smoked and took birth control. Report Abuse

I've been smoking since I started birth control 2 years ago lol; && I still have'nt quit.

My gyno. told me that the health risks (like blood clots; heart attack) of smoking while on the pill don't effect anyone under the age of 25.

&& no; sometimes periods are short; I had one for just a day one time! lol

Plus you have'nt been on the pill that long so you're more prone to the symptoms of the pill b.c of that.

Hope I helped

Yaz is often prescribed for girls with PCOS. PCOS can cause you to not have periods at all, or have unusual ones.

So, no, the problem isn't caused by smoking. And while smoking is not good for you, the warnings abut smoking while on BC are aimed mostly at women over 30. So, smoke on and don't worry!!!

STOP IT! SMOKING IS SO FLIPPEN BAD FOR YOU!

Where have you been? Just started smoking and just learned how dangerous it is! Jeeeezzz!!!!
