Can I put a little sign in my bedroom window that says "Please don't smoke near my bedroom window?"?

I don't smoke and I just moved into this apt and everytime I crack my window open, I feel as though they know and they purposely go outside and smoke near my window and then my whole place smells like cigarettes. The weather will be nice soon and I would love to open my windows. Is it rude or should I call the landlord and ask him if I can put a sign in my window? Im not the type of person to go to someones door and ask them to stop smoking near my windows....TY

You can put a note in your window, but honestly, I think that it will make them do it even more just to spite you. How about you write on the note that you a pregnant (if you're a girl), then maybe they will be more considerate or write that you have severe asthma.

like you i am not a smoker and some people are so inconsiderate it can get very frustrating sometimes. especially since i am pregnant and want to avoid that as much as possible.

of course...its ur home nd u hav every right...if it continues after u out up the sign i would tlk to th land lord nd see if he couldnt tlk to them as well
