How can I quit smoking. I've tried all the things @ the drugstore. It's the hardest thing i've ever tried todo I can only offer a suggestion on how to cut down which might make it easier to quit. Start thinking about when you smoke. At a certain bar or club (alcohol), in the morning, with coffee, doing make up, with certain friends. Then avoid the situation or delay or stop smoking during the identified activity. Stop going to the club as often, make a short or long term decision about your smoking friends, stop drinking alcohol, smoke one less cigarette in the morning etc. You can also make it a rule not to smoke in your house or car. This includes family and friends. You should also know that nicotine directly affects the pleasure center of your brain. This is one reason it is so hard to quit and why you may smoke more when under stress. Congrats on trying...it is a hard habit to break. Some people have luck taking mild antidepressants (Zyban). Call and ask your Dr for a prescription. Good Luck! chew bubble gum try not to be with a smoker Definitley try Zyban. It worked for my mom, and she had been smoking for like 20 years. It helped her right away. But it won't work by its self, you need to really try. She also chewed lots a gum, still does actually. She has been smoke free for about 3 years.
