How can I stop smoking without that horrible eating anxiety?

A lot of my friends quit smoking and they all gained at least 30 to 40 pounds. Keep junk food out of the house. Put a lock on your refrigerator between meals. Limit yourself to one helping. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Drink 8 glasses of water. Carry a glass of water around with you so you have something else in your hand.

By the way, I can't quit smoking myself. I refuse to be fat and don't know how to heed my own advice....
I quit. It took the nicotine gum to do it and then I transfered to regular gum, which I can't give up after 5 years!
I began some physical activity, a new job and got rid of everything that had to do with smoking or smelled like smoke which all helped. I did gain some weight but it was worth it. And knowing that I would put more weight on if I started again helped me stay a quitter!
Go for it, and good luck. It is so nice to be free of that habit.
