When you smoke, the chemicals from cigarette smoke get into the unborn baby's blood.
The unborn baby:

Gets 25% less oxygen.

Is less healthy.
Tobacco Smoke Affects Unborn Babies. Here's How:

Mom and baby are joined by the placenta - food and oxygen go from Mom's blood to baby through the placenta.
Pregnant smokers have placentas that do not work as well as they should.
Every time a pregnant smoker has a cigarette, her baby gets less food and oxygen.
Babies of smokers are more likely to be born before their due date.
Babies of smokers do not grow as well as they should.

Facts:

Babies of smokers are twice as likely to die of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
Pregnant non-smokers who live with smokers are more likely to have babies who do not grow well.
It is easier for a pregnant smoker to quit if those around her do not smoke.
Babies of smokers who quit early in pregnancy do as well as babies of non-smokers.

Oh god a lot

and dont listen to Goddess... thats ****
OMG. If you care for your baby at ALL, then you would not be smoking. You better stop now, cause harm has already been done.
It not only harms your baby, but the toddler, preschooler, school age child, teen ager and adult the baby will become. The problems with circulation, brain development and low birth weight follow the person through their life. You are negatively impacting your baby's whole life. How can you think you are a good mother if you are willing to harm your baby already. I think you should consider adoption if you cannot put your baby's health above your addiction at this point.
If you smoke, your child is more likely:
to have ADHD
test lower in reading ability
to have lower ability in auditory processing
suffer behavior problems
have brain damage resulting in lower IQ
Alot more than it would if you didn't.>>>>>I'm a dad, I know. The wife and I quit cold turkey because of it, (them) our kids 12 years ago, and never went back. Just ask yourself whats more important, your baby, or a cig.....sorry, don't mean to preach, just trying to help (you and baby). Good Luck!!!!
