I'm a diabetic and addicted to smoking,is it too dangerous for my health? |
i'm 25yr old girl,addicted to smoking for the last 4 years,have atleast 10 to 15 cigarrettes daily. i'm also a juvenile diabetic depended on insulin. my last sugar report was 340pp and 270 fasting. i want to how much injurious is it for my health and is diabetic affected by smoking. tried my best to quit smoking however unable to till date. seeking a valuable advise,plz help. It is very dangerous for you if you are an insulin dependent diabetic. It causes blood vessels to become smaller and diabetics tend to have trouble with their blood circulation to start with. I know it is hard to quit. I am an insulin diabetic like you and I had been smoking for roughly the same amount of time as yourself. My quitting has saved me from a lot of suffering. The risk of Gangrene and blindness for us diabetics is extreme. You really need to make an effort to stop smoking asap. It is worth the effort and you will be so glad when you have stopped forever like me. common u know the answer it is very harm full to your health.and in this only u can help your self.so try this way reduce 2 cigarette in one week. then try not to smoke before your 1st tea or after your every tea.slowly u can reduce i think Quitting is impossible in near 6month. Smoking is bad for your health, that includes diabetes. You are young enough to quit and maybe your lungs will clear up before its too late. You can quit, you just need will power. You have to make up your mind, either you smoke and get sicker, or quit and feel better and be more healthy. Have you ever smelled a smoker who has lung cancer? That would change your mind from can't to can in a hurry. Please stop for your health. You can do it if you put your mind to it. Be strong. Good luck. I believe you have known some harmful effects of smoking and that is why you are concerned. It is not of the nicotine, it is the HABIT dear.. But you have the courage which is the first step of you quitting. Make use of this courage to guide you: 1) Courage - to ask for more help. 2) Courage - some time off away from your friends who smoke. Then follow by your instinct: 1) Stay with people who don't smoke 2) Try to stay away from people who smoke Even you observe all that above, HOWEVER, Self-discipline is the one of the main thing to make sure the habit is terminated. Which person you love you think hate your smoking habit the most? Are you willing to quit for this person? Can you tell the person upfront you are going to quit smoking because you know he/she don't like you to smoke? (I think all smokers hate this...but change YOUR opinion if you want to be different from their habits) smoking is always bad for your health! You are in for big trouble dear. It is like fuel to the fire. You may end up with cataract and finally total blindness.
