How do you assist someone to quit smoking without offending them?

1. Don't smoke in front of them.
2. Don't suggest going places where others will be smoking.
3. Tell them the patch can be very successful. Source(s): Friend and relative of successful former smokers.
Tell them the consequences of it(lung cancer, emphysema). Tell them it has no benefits at all. Only damages your health. I don't know about the nicotine patch, it probably wouldn't work. The best way to hold them accountable and tell them to use their own willpower. It will work.
