Do the risks out way the benifits of quiting smoking while you are pregnant? |
Do the risks out way the benifits of quiting smoking while you are pregnant? I smoked with my son and he turned out fine. He weighed 6lbs and 10 oz. 10 fingers, 10 toes...but he does have allergies. His dr says that could be why, they a research group found a link. With my daughter I quit smoking at 4months. She weighed 6lbs and 13 oz and also was perfect. She has no health problems. QUIT NOW! There is nothing that will hurt your child in the womb no more than you smoking or drinking or something like that. Nothing will happen to your unborn fetis if you stop smoking. Me and my aunt both was pregnant and quit smoking during the pregnancy and our children are healthy. If you aren't going to quit, at least cut back. My doctor told me that under a half a pack a day during pregnancy showed no different results from non-smoking mothers. So do what you want, but I think you should quit. If you plan on breastfeeding, you certainly shouldn't smoke! I don't know of any risks that might outweigh the benefits of quitting smoking. I don't know of any risk at all. If you pregnant, you must quit smoking. smoking while your pregnant isn't smart the baby could be below birth weight when born it isn't healthy for you or the baby Just quit. Don't look for reasons why stopping smoking may not be a good idea. I smoked from ages 18 - 40. Never worried about getting sick.... "It couldn't happen to me" was my basic thinking. I WAS VERY WRONG. Do not continue to hurt yourself or your child.... STOP NOW. DON'T THINK LIKE A TEENAGER ANYMORE! There's too much riding on it!!!!! |
