How do I get through to my hard head mom to stop drinking and smoking? If you figure that one out, let me know. My Mom's liver is shutting down & they found a cyst in her throat but she still won't stop. Unfortunatly we can't fix anyone, they need to fix themselves. Maybe if you got the family together for an intervention, but she will probably not be too happy with you for a while. let her know that you are way more important then those and that she is going to ruin her life. mabey some classes Ah, great question. OK, here's an idea to try on for size. You could lead by example. Just make yourself very happy in your own pursuits and habits. Nature itself and the force field you're presenting will gradually draw her towards the better ways. It could work because if you're happy she's going to want some of that right? If a person does not want to give it up, They won't until they are ready. (been there) She has to want to. You can't change her, she can only change herself. If you could find a member of Alcoholics Anonymous to come and talk to her, she may decide for herself after listening to someone she can relate to. Then, she can recover and stay sober in AA.
