I smoked during my pregnancy and i'm nine months now. I'm very scared! Please help.?

I've been smoking black & mild cigars throughout my pregnancy and now i'm scared that my baby will have problems. I think about it all the time but I just couldn't quit. I had alot of stress going on with my family and I had no one there for me to lean on. My baby's dad wasn't even there so I was alone. Smoking kept me calm. The doctor said that my baby was doing fine but I still have nightmares. What do you think? I've slowed down alot on smoking.

Don't listen to any of the insults hurled at you by the ignorant and/or brainwashed masses out there.

Don't let any guilt you either.

Women for many years smoked while pregnant and although it can cause some complications such as low birth weight and a harder labor and delivery, the baby isn't going to have an addiction when it's born.

The low birth weight comes from the factors of oxygen in the blood and NOT the nicotene.

There is a placental blood barrier that protects your baby from a lot more than the general anti-smoking public would like for you to believe. Stress is worse for you than smoking and if smoking kept you calm, more power to you. Then again, what pregnant woman ISN'T under a lot of stress?? HAHA!!

I would slow down on the smoking for the simple fact that it's not really good for you...but your baby isn't going to die or be born all deformed from it.

Please stop worrying and look forward to having your baby and the wonderful blessing you have had bestowed upon you.

And stop listening to people that tell you that you are evil for smoking. If all of these ad campaigns were focused on informing people of the TRUTH rather than brainwashing, we'd have far less hypocrites out there. The new ads have been geared towards the younger populations and the only way to get through to a lot of young people is a scare tactic. Unfortunately it has turned a lot of them into crass, judgemental imbeciles.

Anyway...

Congratulations!!

Listen to your doctor....Your baby is going to be just fine.

:)
quit as soon as you can
STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
you need to stop somthing can happen you really need to stop, i dont want you to feel worse but you do need to stop its not good
That wasn't a good idea. I don't know how to help you. You just REALLY need to stop. If you have trouble, chew lots of gum. It really works, but during your pregnancy it's REALLY important to quit while the baby is still okay.
Focus on looking forward. Quit smoking. You can't undo whatever you may have done, you only have control over what you do in the future.

Find a new, healthy, stress reliever. If you can find this book at the bookstore or at your library, find it and learn to do it. It takes only a couple minutes to learn: THE RELAXATION RESPONSE, by Herbert Benson.
baby will be addicted to nicotine.... Mothers that have no cosideration for the unborn that had no say in the matter... I hope the baby brings you long life of worrying and hardship.. They say nicotine can affect the baby, making him slow and like a moron.. Doing stupid stuff that brings you pain and worry... Yea, then when the baby is born you'll smoke the whole house - so he can breathe your 2nd hand smoke... That poor kid doent have a shot with a mother like you!
