What more can we do to protect unborn children from the effects of passive smoking?

What more can we do to protect unborn children from the effects of passive smoking?

pass a non smoking ban in all public places and make it a crime to smoke in front of others that do not want to breath it. I do realize how problematic that last one would be.
punch the offending smoker in the face
you get more harmful chemicals breathed in sitting in a car for 6 hrs a day in traffic than from passive smoke.

you drink more chemicals per day than are in passive smoke.

you eat more chemicals per day than are in passive smoke.

why focus on the least?
For the record, I'm not a smoker. I'm going to assume by passive, you're talking about second hand smoke.

Strangely enough, all studies done on second hand smoke point to absolutely no effects in others. It's just all propaganda.

Would I like a smoke free world? Sure, why not. But I know it's for completely selfish reasons and not for medical reasons so therfore I wouldn't vote against it and ruin other peoples rights to do it.

I'll admit though, most of my information came from Showtimes Bullsh*t show. But still, they showed all the surgeon generals findings on second hand smoke which was basicaly no different from people who had not been around second hand smoke.
I don't believe passive smoking is harmful to unborn babies ( do you have any scientific evidence for this?). But , anyway, the practical answer is for the expectant mother to avoid being around people who are smoking.Ask others not to smoke around you...and/or remove yourself from that place. You will need to do the same things after the child is born.
In the first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 15, verse 33 it says:
"Do not be misled! Bad association spoils useful habits."

This can apply to being around smokers on a regular basis. If you don't smoke stay away from smokers. It will not only be good for your baby, but esp. be good for you.
