When you smoke how did you stop? |
Im asking this for info to make my mom quit smoking honey, i know you meant well for your mother, but if you are going to tell her that if she continue to smoke , it will eventually kill her, then she will keep smoking and tell you that eventually she will have to go so why give up the thing she likes to do... but if you get someone to do a competition with her, someone who smokes and is willing to give it up ... set them up and make a competition out of it... i am sure both will try their best not to smoke. i didn't.that some thing very hard for me to do but you keep trying some peoples are better at it than other.have no will power i guess Look around the web for sites. Encourage and support her. Tell you love her and don't want to watch her die from smoking related illnesses. Make sure you researched it and know what you are talking about. It is real tough and most folks don't make it on the first try. I did it cold turkey. YEARS ago, it was a New Year's resolution of mine, my mom's and my brother. I was the only one that did it. Fortunately, they both have quit since then. My mom did it through hypnosis. It took a few times, but it finally worked. I just got sick of smelling like an astray all the time. i just stopped buying them and smoking. It was hard since almost all the other people in my family still smoke and I was always around them but after the first month the urge goes away. She will not quit until she is ready to quit. But may be if you show her some pictures of what your lungs look like when you smoke it will help. I just lost my sister 12 days ago because she loved them things so much. Get some information on what it does and how to quit. Leave it around the house GOOD LUCK One day I went into the shower of hot water and began to cough. I coughed so hard it hurt my chest. I realized, I needed to give up smoking. I weaned myself. I stopped buying them and I would hit my dad up for three a day. One for morning, on the way to work; one for mid day and one after dinner. Eventually, my source (dad) quit so I refused to buy anymore. At that time, they were about 85 cents a pack..... |
