Has anyone smoked and had a tummy tuck?


i am going in hospital on the 3rd of august to have tummy tuck but surgen has told me to stop smoking but i cant.i am worried sick and need to no if any one else has had tummy tuck while still smoking

I just had a tummy tuck earlier this month....I don't smoke, but my doctor told me that there are some things (including smoking) that thin out the blood...which is something bad to have while being operated on, and I think it affects the anesthesia as well. (The other things were supplements: garlic, ginko, and ginger.)

I would talk to your doctor and let them know that you are having a very difficult time quitting smoking. He may want to reschedule the date...or maybe they can just modify something in the procedure.

YOU MUST TELL YOUR DOCTOR THE TRUTH BEFORE THE SURGERY.

no!! you have to stop, he will be able to tell if you have quit or not, if you have not you cant have the surgery. you dont know how serious it is, you can die on the operating table!

Someone I know had a tummy tuck and boob job and smoked after, lets just say she didn't heal right and her cars looked funny, especially her belly button. Please dont smoke while you recover... it may make the surgery all for nothing.
I smoke, so I feel your pain, but it's not worth it when the outcome of your surgery depends on it.
