Any other moms here who cigarette smoke? |
I have smoked for nearly 20 years now, and am currently trying to quit. Over the years I have tried and tried, but never with any real success although. If you are a smoker, "what brand of cigarettes do you smoke"? "How many cigarettes a day do you smoke"? Quitting smoking i think is the hardest thing you will ever do....I have quit a thousand times, I have been smoking for about 40 years and my Mom has been smoking for 60 years.....One time i quit with the patch and gained 30 pounds in a year....so i went back to it......I make my own (about $1.00 a pack that way), will not pay almost $5.00 a pack and i smoke about a pack a day..........Good Luck i am a smoking mom too dont u feel terrible sometimes? i know i do. i smoke about a pack a day of marlboro ultra lights GPC, about a pack or so a day, I wish I would quit smoking too. More people die of lung cancer than the next 3 types of cancer combined (breast cancer, colon cancer, and prostate cancer combined). Smoking increases the chance that your child will have asthma, ear infections, and hospitalizations. You are 7 times more likely to be disabled from smoking than you are to die from it. Who will help you clean the house and cook for you when you are too weak from congestive heart failure to walk across the room with your oxygen on? Who will babysit for you when you have a stroke and can't talk anymore? Who will wipe your butt for you when you can't move your right side anymore? Which one of your kids is going to have to pay for those things for you? See your doctor and ask about Wellbutrin. Second hand smoke really increases the chances your kids will develop asthma, ear infections, etc. Most importantly, there is a good chance your children will also become smokers--not exactly the loving gift you intended.... -a med student |
