How long does it take for cigarette smoke to leave the breastmilk? |
If I somke a cigarette I would like to know how long it would take for the somke to no longer be in my breastmilk? I'm not sure on that, but I think like 4 hours. Either way, It's still the best for the baby. I nursed all four of my kids and they are all VERY healthy Ohhhhhhhhhhh....how sad, you are a new mom and still smoke. Second hand smoke is the absolute worst thing for your child. Possibly you can try to quit? Not sure how long it takes for nicotine to leave your milk BUT you will be pumping and dumping alot of milk waiting for the nicotine to leave your system. Consult with your doctor....your baby may be better off with formula? "Horizon" makes an organic formula. I know it can be found at Whole Foods Health-food store. i'm pretty sure it's going to take more than 4 hours to get out of your system... i don't know, but i do know that you shouldn't be smoking when you are breast feeding!! even if you stop breastfeeding you shouldn't be smoking around a baby, they could end up with lots of health problems including asthma.i hope you didn't smoke when you were pregnant!!!!!!! i used to smoke but i quit as soon as i found out i was pregnant,i still don't smoke,my daughter is 6 yrs old.you should quit smoking,if you think it will be too hard for you, think of your baby and his/her health, that should be enough of an incentive!! Don't smoke during that time if you care about your baby I could be wrong in saying this but I think it would harm the baby milk and other ways. |
