What can happen if you take birthcontrol and smoke? |
Today I went to the doctors with my mom, the doctor asked me if I was on birthcontrol or if I would like to be and I said yes. The only problem was he started to ask me questions and one of them was if I smoke or take drugs. I smoke and on occation smoke marijuana, what can this do to me? It can cause a stroke. Blood clots, which can lead to stroke or pulmonary embolus, both of which are verrrry serious. blood clots in your legs would be more likely especially after surgery. could lead to a stroke or pulmonary embolism If you continue to smoke as you get older, your risk of developing potentially fatal blook clots increases exponentially. Women who are on any hormonal birth control are strongly advised not to smoke (and I would add that all people, women and men, are strongly advised not to smoke because it is bad for you). There likely won't be any immediate effects but in the long run, it is not healthy for you. I don't know, but I have been on birth control for about 8 years and I smoke weed everyday, so far nothing bad has happened to me! I don't smoke cigarettes though, don't know if that has anything to do with side effects or not. Sorry good luck. It can increase your risks of cervical cancer, lung cancer, and many other cancers... best advice, DONT SMOKE> Stroke |
