What kind of birth control is best for a woman in her 20's who smokes? |
I was due to have my shot of 150mg of Depopravira within the past two weeks, but I heard some aweful side affects that are caused by my birth control. So dsecided to stop using it and find another method. I still haven't found one that compatible with me since I smoke. I have one two year old and still in college, but I really don't want any more children, but too young by state law to have my tubes tied. Need help, its midterms too so I am a little stressed out. Any help her ladies? I am a 22 year old smoker on birth control. Having tried just about everything on the market with every side effect from weight gain to non-stop bleeding. By far the best thing out there is the Nuva Ring a once a month vaginal ring. You just put it in for 3 weeks then take it out for a week, too easy. I have used it for over a year with no ill effects my sister has used it for 3 months with no side effects either. She also is a smoker. A good friend of mine has been on it for about four years, and though she smokes again no side effects. It is unrealistic, at least I couldn't do it, to be abstinent while in a loving long term relationship. I would highly recommend you at least try it. Once I got turned on to it I became a "spokes person" and now my friends thank me for turning them onto it. A real life savor. Hate to be the bearer of bad news girlie, but try abstinence. Or, quit smoking. Any birth control you take only increases the side effects because you are a smoker... Good luck. None..there aren't any birth control methods (except condoms) that allow you to smoke. My suugestion is to stop smoking. Quit smoking. you need to stop smoking, sorry I have been in the medical field for 20 years and to be very honest there isn't a good form of birth control. The side effects are great with any oral b/c pill and/ or shot. The only one that I can truely recommend is the ovule ring or the use on condoms. Sorry I'm not much help, but as long as you smoke you are at a higher risk for side effects. 1) Oral Sex 2) An*l Sex 3) M*sturbation 4) L*sbianism |
