Why is it that when you take contraceptive pills, it is not advisable to smoke? |
and one thing..i am using diane now.. i wanted to shift to althea with same content (generic name).. how to start on the 2nd pill? or is it ok to shift to yasmin (diff content)? Smoking increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. The hormones in birth control pills can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. Combined, especially in women over 30 years of age, there is a significant risk of having a heart attack or stroke. As far as switching which pill you're using, you need to talk to your doctor. Because it causes blood clots. I would get the advise of your Doctor before changing any kind of pills. :) cause cigarettes are all chemicals, and mixing the cigarettes' chemicals with the medicine's chemicals = bad idea My cousin had a stroke at age 23 because she smoked and took birth control. I do not know the exact medical reason but its not a good idea to smoke and take the pill. |
