My stress fracture is healed but I'm still having a lot of pain. Please help? |
I went to my doctor about a month ago and had an MRI...my tibial stress fracture was finally healed. He said, however, that I had numerous shin splints along the course of my shin. I still have a ton of pain where the stress fracture was..not necessarily when I walk but sometimes the side of my shin will just start to ache or if I stretch my leg a certain way it'll really hurt. It also hurts to touch the area where the fracture was. I can't press on it and if my 8 lb chihuahua steps on it, I scream bloody murder (which really scares her and I feel bad). It will take up to 18 months to become pain free, after a fx... and shine splint can be as painful as breaking a bone.... I know from experience....... I rode bulls and broncs for a few years.... and it takes longer than six weeks to completely heal a fx..... |
