How do you cope with the stress of work? |
How do you cope with the stress of work? You need to identify what is causing your stress? Is it your boss, the amount of work you have to do, are you expecting too much from yourself ? After you identified the cause, can you do anything about it? If it is normal stress then you can exercise, take a walk, do gardenming, listen to music and perhaps talk to someone about your stress. If it is chronic stress and you have no control then you need to get out of that job because it could affect your physical and mental health. Let go of the things that really don't concern your integrity; and only worry about getting your job that is your responsibility done. There are no right or wrong answers to this, quite simply because everybody handles stress differently. However, the individual may take some time before adjusting themselves to the environment they are in. In other words identifying why you are stressed, what is it that is making you stressed, environmental factors; such as noise pollution, difficulty of the work etc. usually when my work day is done,i go home and unwind, sometimes just sitting quietly helps quiet things down.i have found if a give myself an hour and do something relaxing, maybe watching a funny movie, even taking a nice walk and find a quiet place can help out a lot. The second you step out that door you let all the problems of that day roll off your shoulders, if it was too rough go grab a drink and if its mid-day then find a place to chill out for a while and let your mind catch up to where your on top of whats going on. I go home and get drunk or hit the punching bag a few times. However I'm sure there are a million other and better ways to deal I just have not learned them yet. excercise, taking time doing things i enjoy (like reading), and i talk to my husband and friends...i am also a huge fan of journaling. remember, your job is only one small part of your life! I don't have stress from work. In fact, my life's pretty well stress-free. |
