Stress.....!?


What do you do to releive your stress if your at work or at home?

Hello,

I've been under a lot of stress lately because I am building a business, homeschooling my kids and just recently divorced. Some days when I pay the bills or start to think about the future, I can barely move my neck because I am so tense.

I know a lot of tips for relieving stress--taking a walk, using lavender essential oil in a diffuser, getting together with a good girlfriend and eating chocolate cake...

But what has been helping me most lately, is to take a moment and really notice what I'm feeling and where I am.

For example, I will notice my hands and how they feel. I will look around my room and really notice the details--the papers on my desk, the color of the post pins on my bulletin board. I look out the window and watch the dance of the leaves as the wind blows the river birch.

When I do this exercise, I start to calm down. It is very comforting for me. I smell my own breath, and unwind.

Soon, I will automatically have a list of what I'm grateful for. "Gee, most of the bills are getting paid". "I couldn't ask for kinder children". "The cardinals are so red this year."

Lately this has been my best stress reduction tip and I hope that it helps you too.

Dance around to music! Have a bath, play video games, read a book, watch a film, go shopping, eat something really bad but lovely, have a nap, have a drink!
