Stress Fracture of the foot..? |
Ive had a stress fracture on my right foot. It was wrapped by my podiatrist every week for the past three weeks. The thing is, it is still swelling bad. The wrap gets really tight at night.The wrapping of the foot doesn't seem to be doing anything. My doc says stay off the foot. I try as much as I can. Sould I get a cast?? Sould I see another doctor? Feet have a tendency to swell at night anyway, but especially if you have an injury. I would, every several hours, throughout the day elevate the foot and apply ice. This will redistribute the fluids, reduce swelling, and the ice helps inflammation. They usually don't apply casts to stress fractures and it sounds like your doc is giving you good advice. Watch your sodium intake as well, and good luck. |
