I want to chill, feel relaxed, stress free, what can I take that isnt illegal besides alchohol?


Im under some hard times, I want to feel chill, relaxed, stressed free, what can I take that isnt illegal?

Drinks, Food perferably.

Bananas and chocolate :)
Well, the bananas moreso than chocolate because the release serotonin into your brain and mellow you out a little.
Try herbal teas, especially ones with camomile in them, sweeten them with honey if you feel like you need to.

Use lavendar oils and candles, these will calm you down too.

As to food- most people have some foods that make them happy, like mashed potatoes and gravy like Ma or Grandma used to make. Think back about a particular food that made you happy at Thanksgiving or breakfast or whatever, and there's a food to help you chill.

As to the whole idea of chilling and relaxing, the best things I've heard about doing to get some endorphin action are;
Hard excercise, which increases your endophins and helps to even you out all day long.
Tai Chi or Yoga, which cause you to concentrate on exactly what you are doing in the moment, which helps to empty the mind, provides your body with some endorphins, and once again, gives you some exercise which in the end helps relax you naturally.
Oh- chocolate helps to give some people that endophin happiness as well.

One other thing you can do to move yourself into the positive is to make up a Gratitude List- of the things you do have to be grateful for.
Example-
I am greatful for
- my friends
-my job
-my family
-my health
-my car
-my hobbies
etc....that can help you realise that there are some good things in your life as well.

There are some herbal teas that will help you relax -like chamomile, and some teas with valarian root. Valarian is more of a sleep aid however. I've found that exercising everyday for at least 30 minutes helps me relax. Being in good health is a major factor. No junk food. Cut out caffeine by not drinking any diet sodas. Stick with decaff coffee or herbal tea. That should get you started.

Read the bible or contact your pastor.
God is the answer to your problems and if you trust and believe in him, he will calm your spirit.
Food, drink and drugs only give very temporary relief.

You should learn to meditate. Thats exactly why it was invented.

You might explore Buddhism. Its all about stress reduction from inside out.
