What are some calming herbal teas/health supplements for calming the mind and relieving stress?

I need something natural and healthy as well as safe, something that doesn't contain ginger (makes me jittery, and sick to my stomach).I'm genrerally very emotionally reactive and lately I've been encountering more and more stress and tension than usual. Thanks!

I was looking for the same thing, I find that lavendar helps. I also looked through the teas at the grocery store and found a Celestial Seasonings one for "sleepytime". It doesn't make me sleep per se, but it IS calming. I can't remember if that's the exact name, but it contains "tilia flower" as a calming agent. And no caffiene, of course :)

5-HTP
L-Tyrosine

These are both natural chemicals found in your brain. However, during times of stress, they can be imbalanced. Once getting them back to normal levels, however, they can combat the stress you're expiriencing.

I beleive that you can purchase these at a health food store. They're miracle supplements, atleast for me! And no side-effects either :)

I ***SWEAR*** by Calms Forte by Hylands http://www.hylands.com/products/calmsfor... It's available at many food stores and (almost) all health food stores. No hangover or sedative effect!

Hope this helps!

Well you should go to this website

i enjoy chamomile tea because it calms my stomach
and is good for you

Honeybush Vanilla Herbal Tea is very good too :)

Chamomile tea is a relaxing tea and has a nice taste to it mix it with a bit of honey if its a bitter for you.

Valerian root is a very effective and safe sedative for short term use. It's available even at your local drug store in the vitamin section. And no ginger!
