What kind of activity helps to calm down stress?

I've been into alot os stress on studing for enrichment in high school, worrying on SAT tests, and also on colleges. I know that it's a common stress, but it's really killing me.

Are there anyways to calm down the stress?

Any breathing exercises- Yoga and pilates are great because they really do focus on breathing and have been proven de-stressors.

But just taking 10 big deep breathes can also be effective.

Try a simple breathing meditation.
1. Sit or lay in a quiet place, give yourself at least 5 minutes, 20 is optimal
2 Take a deep breath in through your nose for a slow count of 4
3 Hold the breath for a slow count of 7
4 let the breath out through your mouth for a slow count of 8
repeat.

This method is one that is taught to police officers all over the country to relieve stress during or just after tense situations.

You can find many guided free programs and instructions on the net, search for guided relaxation

Relaxation breathing over the short haul. Meditation (focus or mindfulness - though I personally would recommend mindfulness) will really change your relationship to stress over the longer haul. Teaches you that everything changes and that stressing over things over which you have no control has no purpose at all.

Get candles if you can (you find the scent that relaxes you the most on your own). Just take ten minutes out of your day to sit back and clear your head. Take some deep breaths and relax your body. Pay attention to the way you breathe more, and how fast your heart is always going. When I get stressed sometimes I can hear my heart beat in my ears. Just try and slow down a bit, it is more healthy to take things slower.

i can imagine. i go through it alot. when that happens to me i tend to get myself to do something i enjoy. i walk or so swimming. or i listen to music. love it. makes me feel better. or u should do something that makes ur mind feel at easy. go out and think about nothing and have fun. just do something that u like to do. and it will help u.

Go jog around the block or let yourself watch something funny.

a really good thing to do is.. run it makes you release endorphins that cause stress. and it makes you feel better about yourself.. swimming could be good. reading a book that really interests you.

repetitive things,walking.running.meditation.......... breathing..........
recognizing it is not the end of the world if you are not the best.there is always someone better...........

try going to a spa/jacuzzi by urself
u can either
.think about ur problrm n try to solve it
or b
try not to think about it and relax
both are pretty good ideas

i'd take a brake and go and meet some friends somewhere locally and just enjoy their company and a few drinks...
