What are some HEALTHY ways to get rid of stress?

I know the unhealthy ways, such as lashing out at people for random reasons and eating too much unhealthy food. So what are some HEALTHY ways to ease stress? Because as much as we'd all like to get rid of the SOURCE of stress in our lives, we can't. So there must be a better way to handle it, right?

I think a zillion of you will tell me to meditate. Do you have any other thoughts as well?

I find yoga a great way to relax, but it varies on what sort of person you are, give it a go, if the stretches don't work for you, maybe pick up some of the breathing techniques. Sometimes a good, deep breath can help to relieve stress if you feel it creeping up on you. I often find that doing several deep and practiced breaths, can help me rid stress when it suddenly pops up. (For example, when i'm about to go on stage)

Doing something you like can also help, having a long bath, going shopping with your friends, talking away on the phone, dancing to your favorite music etc. Do something that you really enjoy, and hopefully it'll help in some way.

Release anger on something inanimate, my father has a strange hatred towards phones (which I find funny, he always complains about buying new ones, yet he's the one to break them).

Also, it's hard to do, and I admit I struggle at times to do it myself, but just don't get stressed. Really. Just don't. Especially about stuff you can't control. Say you've got a boss who's pissed off at you, you won't see him till the next day and theres no way to get in touch with him. Why stress? Theres nothing you can do to change it now, nothing you can do will affect your boss till tomorrow, so why worry tonight? Just be happy, and don't worry till the next day.

Well I don't know specifically what stress you have but...

If it's any kind of anger stress. Try taking an old pillow you don't need anymore, and a pair of scissors, and talk to the pillow as if it was whatever you were mad at, and start cutting it up, it might release your anger out onto a pillow so that you get it out, but in a non-harmful way. Just make sure you don't hurt yourself in the process.

try listening to music for awhile, different types. if youre a girl, shopping can always ease the mind and if you're a boy, then try playing basketball and shooting some hoops. for me, sleep is the best way to relieve stress. you can also try going on vacation or just sit outside in a quiet place.

sex, lots of it (it works actually) or if dont have a partner go solo. do something wild and adventurous (legal of course and doesnt involve alcohol or drugs) go to a strip club, ride a roller coaster, practice shooting a gun at the gun range, ride a motorcycle. my favorite way of relieving stress is lifting weights/ running. everybody deals with stress differently, do what makes you relaxed and calm and makes you feel good (legal of course!)

If stress is affecting your life in any way, you might want to consider the factors that can cause it. When you are faced with a lot of stress, your ability to cope diminishes, and there is a possibility of an emotional or physical disruption to your life.

OK what really helps me.. is just to laugh.. laugh really does help a lot when imstressed out......

Try to watch some comedy shows on youtube... Some of my fav comedians are Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, George Lopez of course....

I recommend the dvd "Hot and Fluffy" by Gabriel Iglesias. Its really funny get it at amazon for about 10 bucks...

Or try to watch something funny such as a movie... it really helps you mind ease of the problem...

Also just laugh at random things... Make laughter in your mind...

It always helps me im stressed out from work and stuff... so yea give it a try...

Hope that helps!

1. Sex

2. Throw ex spouse from moving pick up truck. (worked wonders for me)

3. Find a hobby you love or cause you are deeply passionate about and use it as your stress relief. When I find myself on overload, stressed to the point that I'm virtually useless for anything productive, I'll just go mess with my fabric, go to the barn and mess with the horses...anything to relax. Things start making more sense then and you can make more rational decisions.

exercise and pick up a hobby that totally distracts you from everything else ...

I also like movies that i can throw my imagination into, and it is dorky, but I play Sudoku ... it requires me to focus on it and I can't spare the bandwidth to think about my stresses ...

Stress is my middle name. :) I've always been told that exercise really reduces stress, so I tried it. It worked. So, I would try exercising a few days a week. It doesn't have to be anything terribly strenuous. Just get out and move. My favorite stress reliever is actually a massage. That is soothing for the body and soul.

Hop this helps!

Well, yes, meditation is probably the best long term, preventive solution.
BUT FOR NOW: put on some heavy metal or favorite rock 'n roll music, turn it up really loud, and sing and dance your heart out. Pretend you're with people you love, jamming big time
Weeee, works for me!

Ok well on the bottom of your feet u have pressure points, and i read in a magazine that if u gently rub the "shoulder" pressure point it relieves stress....
Here is a picture of the pressure points in your feet:

HOPE IT HELPS!!

Exercise! Exercise is probably the healthiest and one of the best ways to get rid of stress. Especially exercise that really gets you moving and gets your heart rate up.

Remove yourself from the stressful situation for a while by going for a walk. Walking does a body good.

Or find a hobby you enjoy that you can immerse yourself in, and forget about your stress for a while.

Just going to name a few...
**Excercise
**Joga
**meditation
**marij...... wait that's not healthy.
**psycologist visit
**massage therapy

They all work btw... I've tried them myself.

Exercise, yoga, getting a massage, getting together with friends, watching a funny movie or tv show, and yes, meditation. :)

talk with friends,deep breathing,meditation,journal,sex,exercis... to music,watch cartoons

I read an awesome book that really helped me out a bunch. Adrenal Fatigue the 21st century syndrome.
