How can I stop from stressing over everything? |
I am seventeen. I am constantly stressed out. I leave for school at 6:40, I get home from school at 3:30, and I spend most of my time at home attempting to do my homework. I will sit with my books open for hours having a mental breakdown. I am always behind in my classwork. I am usually up until 2:00 at night finishing the homework because it needs to be done, but I am exhausted during the day. Other than stress from school, I have a lot of stress with my personal life. I've lost all of my friends in my three years of high school. At the beginning of my freshman year my three best friends moved. I made a new best friend who stopped talking to me at the beginning of my sophomore year. I would hang around with a group of girls at my school during the first few months of my sophomore year, but around December they dropped me. My cousin would include me with her friends freshman year, but sophomore year she stopped including me. I am just beginning my junior year. I still find myself stressing about these events and my grief from being rejected and left by everyone I've ever loved. Because people have left me so many times, I am too afraid to make new friends so I become stressed and tense in any social situation. I always assume people dislike me, which I am sure quite a few people do. I often think about a suicide attempt and I think the reason for this is so people could see the depression and strain I am in. How can I stop stressing over all of this and calm down? Wow, chill. I was the same way in high school. I never fit in. I never picked the "right" clothes or said the "right" thing. see a psychologist, and talk to them about everything. trust me, you will feel a whole lot better if you do. it will get a lot of tension off of you, especially if your thinking about suicide. Start inviting people over to your house if you feel like you get left out. And of course, go seek help from a doctor. HiI think you need to see your Dr. Depression doesn't go away by itself. You might need to take medication. Don't even consider suicide. Life sucks sometimes & isn't fair. You need your sleep more than homework completed. Your health is more important. How can you function properly without enough sleep? You can"t. Friends come and go in your life. I don't want friends, they always want something from me. Maybe take a few days off school and catch up on your sleep. Go and see Dr. Depression is nothing to mess around with. I would strongly urge you to speak to your doctor and get a referral to a qualified mental health professional. Talk to your parents or the school counselor to get the ball rolling. Medication can help relieve some of your depression symptoms. Talk therapy for your stress and self-esteem issues will be useful as well and help you feel empowered rather than depressed. Also, meditation would help you to quiet your mind and relieve stress. Daily meditation can work wonders. Know that there are many ways to meditate and that meditation can help you relax and gain focus. You may be able to find a meditation teacher or join a meditation group. The time spent in daily meditation is small and the benefits are great, especially with regular practice. Meditation is one time you do not have to think or figure anything out. You just allow yourself to be and wonderous things can happen. Best wishes to you. |
