Why am I stressed out at home?

I had a very wonderful day yesterday with my wife and one of the kids. I was so happy that I was actually singing (very badly I must admit). Anyway, the very second I walked through the door of my house, my stress kicked in and my youngest asked me "daddy, why do you always look like your angry." I know that I suffer from depression but it is directly linked to my home life. I have 1 bio daughter and 6 others that I have either raised or am still raising. Two of my wifes daughters came up pregnant in the past month. I'm distrought over this but have accepted it (I think). This is not the main issue, it just pushed the stress to a new level. I take ativan to help with my stressful times but I can't just take that all the time. When it gets really bad, I take prozac but then I really can't function well at work. I can be so happy when I'm elsewhere. Suggestions and comments are welcome!

find a place in your home that you can make totaly yours, where if you shut the door and ask your family nicely to leave you alone while in it, just knowing you have a retreat in your own home will help you loads, but the key is, dont be in it every waking moment, spend time with your family, and go in your *special* place for maybe 30 minutes a few times a week, to know there is a place in your *stressful house* where you can get away from the stress, focus on your hobbies, or read will make your home life more enjoyable

You could try 1 of 3 things:

Rescue Remedy - the stuff is amazing! Completely natural, just a couple of drops and you feel like the weight has dropped off your shoulders, although you still feel like yourself.

Excercise - naturally releases endorphins, the feel-good hormone

Talking to your wife - how does she feel? Maybe you could share the stress? Or work on solutions together.

Good luck

Thats alot to deal with , and maybe you resent having too. I think you need to find something you enjoy doing to vent your stress, golf, ball, riding a bike, gym, wrestling..you are not at peace with what life has dealt you..its nothing you can change about it..it the responsibilty you chose. pick yourself up.you cam make it..
