Could a birth control be the reason I'm really stressed? |
I'm on the nuva ring. Could it be the reason I've been extremely stressed out? I've been on it for about a year and a half. I was thinking this because I was put on it a little before me and my boy-friend got together. For the first 6 months of the relationship was PERFECT. But then we began to fight... i became really angry-like and irritable, stressed... etc... I dont know. I may be paranoid. I'm going to the doctor about it thursday no matter what but I just was curious. help? Yes it could. Birth controls have many side effects. I use this site called askapatient.com all the time to get real people's symptoms after taking drugs. I looked up Nuva Ring for you: http://askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?dr... It's not just the NuvaRing that could cause hormonal changes, which technically could potentially lead to stress or changes in emotions. Many, if not all, birth controls will do the same thing. In fact, they are known to decrease sexual drive and may cause PMS symptoms (or in your case, irritation and stress). Speaking from experience, I noticed the changes in myself as well during the first year and eventually learned to control it (or it could just be the effect tapering off after long-term use). |
