I have Borderline Personality, Psychosis, OCD and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder!

In the last 6 months I have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality, Psychosis, OCD and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is there something wrong with me for being diagnosed with so many mental illness's. I am currently taking 500mg Seroquel for Borderline Personality, 500mg Fluvoxamaine for OCD, 60mg Fluvoxateine for PTSD and 12mg Risperdone for Psychosis as well as Valium and Temazepam PRN. Is all this medication going to do me more harm then good? Why have I been diagnoised with so many things is it even possible??

So far I have reduced symptoms of OCD and Psychosis but feel more suicidal than ever.
Also can all these different medications damage my liver?

"Why have I been diagnoised with so many things is it even possible??"

Is it even possible? Please note that I am literally going downstairs to get the letter from my last appointment with my psychiatrist.

Let's see now, under "Diagnosis / Problem List" it has:

Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent, Moderate in Severity OCD - Severe, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Low self-esteem, ?PTSD, ?BDD, ?ADHD

Based on my own list, I would say most definitely it is possible and common.

I was surprised to see so many conditions listed like that at first, but all it really is, is a manifestation of problems occurring that weren't treated properly initially. I started out with ADHD which lead to OCD, low-self-esteem, anxiety, depression and the rest of it. I don't know, nor does your doctor, if all those medications you are taking are necessary and if cognitive therapy is all you need; only you can make that decision.

Whoa! That does seem like an awful lot of diagnoses. Frankly, I think you should get a second opinion. Go to another doctor, preferably one who is not associated with the doctor who diagnosed you. Also, consider going to a mental health counselor or psychologist who will discuss your symptoms and diagnoses with you and help you decide if there are safe ways to cut down on all the medicine.

Don't think about harm. Side effects of drugs are inevitable. However, continue the treatment untill you don't feel perfectly OK. You may follow the following tips which will definitely help you to get free from your troubles , very soon.

1. Avoid reading futile books/megazines or viewing such video/films which provide porne, violance provoking material.
2. Be very simple in routine.
3. Avoid stress and tension.
4. Don鈥檛 be late in sleeping at night.
5. Don鈥檛 sleep upto late morning.
6. Do meditation. How to do? Visit 鈥淟ightRKS.blogspot.com鈥?under 鈥淛ap鈥?heading.
7. Avoid the friends who like useless discussions, and time killing.

It is sad, that because of what appears to be the wrath of other's upon you...you have suffered,..but what I would like to know, is if the med's are helping you?...You can't help if you have the issues that you do, but God bless you for getting the right help...It is possible, when so many of your symptoms fall into so many catagories...however, I think that now is the time to pray to God and Jesus, for the right kind of help,...and if your meds are truly helping you cope better, good for them also....

The diagnosis might be possible-I'm not a psychiatrist but it sounds like you're being overdosed. You should definitely get a 2nd or even 3rd opinion about the diagnosis and the drugs. In the meantime ,call your pharmacist and ask if any of those drugs should not be taken together. Good luck to you & take care.

Well, if you have all these diagnosis, then my guess is you've had some pretty traumatic things happen in your life so far. These are just ways in which you mind has adapted to cope with the stress that's put on it. Do you disagree with any of the diagnoses? If you do, then talk to your doc about it and get them to explain their reasoning. Also, there is nothing bad about having a few diagnosis, that is, if they are correct. And it is possible to have that many, as many of them may give steam to another. As in, the PTSD may have caused some of the psychosis and OCD etc.

Are you sure that the seroquel is for the BPD? From my knowledge that's used more to treat psychosis at that does and at a lower dose anxiety. BPD doesn't always have a set medication either, since a lot of the symptoms are hard to treat and respond better to therapy.

To me it seems a but strange the amounts of med's that you are taking. Fluvoxateine for instance might not only work on the PTSD, but the OCD as well. I'd say just talk it over with your doc.

If you're just starting these med's, then feeling more suicidal is normal. It's a side affect of many of them to begin with. Make sure you keep yourself safe and if you begin to feel really unsafe, please tell someone. You may need to stay in hospital a while till the suicidal tenancies go away.

Are you currently seeing a therapist? If not, I really think you should get one. The medications can only do so much, you really need to work through some of the surrounding issues to get on with your life.
