Ways to lessen stress?


im super stressed and need ways to lower my stress lvl.
any techniques or tips are greatly appreciated! thx (=

1. Breathe in deeply and slowly through your nose. Then breathe out slowly through your mouth forming your lips in a circle.
2. Go to a spa.
3. Go to a book store and get lost in some books.
4. Go out with some friends and go have some fun.
5. Travel to a nearby town or city see some new sites.
6. Best answer is to pray about it. God is the best stress reliever!

My recipe is:

1) Figure out some sort of plan for solving whatever is stressing you out. Sometimes having a plan figured out, even if there are a lot of unknowns, can help a lot. Sometimes this takes some deliberate thought, b/c the emotion of the stress gets in the way.

2) Figure out what the worst possible outcome of the stressful situation might be. Realize that it's a possibility but thanks to your plan (step 1) you are doing everything you possibly can.

3) In your mind plan something nice to do for someone you care about. Take the first step toward doing it, and plan on following through with the rest sometime in the next week.

4) Get some vigorous exercise. I prefer running or being in the ocean. As you exercise if you find your mind slipping back to the stress, recall your plan and perhaps add to it if any new ideas come to you.

5) Take any action you can toward your plan.

6) Get a change of scenery or watch a movie or something to take your mind off it a bit.

7) Relax. It will be ok in the end. Stress is a motivator when you can channel it productively. Sometimes bad things happen, and sometimes uncertainty happens. That's life. Climbing mount Everest is stressful, but people do it on purpose all the time. Stress is part of being human. You might have made choices that led to the stress that you wouldn't reverse, if that is the case then just enjoy it and be proud to be climbing your own Everest, it will only make you stronger.

This could really depend on what you are stressed about. Make a list of what is causing you to be stressed. If there are any items that you can fix or resolve, do it or at least come up with a plan to solve those problems or issues. If you are unable to fix/solve what is stressing you; these are some techniques I use to reduce my stress:

1. EXERCISE - Always known for reducing stress, good exercise will enable you to release endorphins that give you a sense of good feeling. You also just generally feel better about yourself which always helps too.

2. Church - Not for everybody, but helpful for many! When I'm stressed, I may not always turn to actually going to church; but listening to Christian music always helps to calm me down.

3. Daycation - Maybe you just need time to yourself. Go someplace away from the stress of your life and just spend time reflecting on what makes you feel good, relaxed and happy in life. Collect your thoughts, realize that stress does not just dissapear and you may at some point have to battle it. If you can't get a full day, maybe find a park or hiking trail to just sit and relax for a couple of hours. There are numerous trails that lead to high points overlooking the entire city of Phoenix, watching a sunset always helps me!

4. Set goals! Set some short term realistic goals for yourself. Achiving these goals will bring encouragement and positive light to your life and situation. Stresses will be less felt and you may even set a goal to fixing a problem that is causing some of the stress!

5. Read a book. Motivational and self help books are a great resource for somebody feeling the stresses of life. There's a book for every situation or problem in the world!

Last, just remember that you are NOT ALONE! Everyone feels and experiences stress at some point, just for different reasons. Hopefully you have someone in your life that you can talk to and is understanding towards your situation. If not, you've always got us looking on here at yahoo! lay down and listen to music that you like. (hopefully not screamo :P)
or what i do is i have a diary and i just write down all of my problems and how i'm feeling and i take it out all in there and it really is relieving cause it's not all inside of me anymore.
it sounds lame but it helps.
or you can also take a nap. when you wake up you should feel better.

Go for a run
Take a nap
Write out a list of everything you have to do
Talk to a friend
Take a walk
Listen to music

find something u enjoying doing to get your mind off the cause of your stress. Or go out for a few drinks with some good friends.

Slow deep breathing in through the nose and out of the mouth. Yoga, meditation.

go shoot some **** hahahaha and find things to laugh at and have fun...
