I've been under turmoils & huge stress in the last yr. I went to my dr. and told me that I am a diabetic.

My A1C was 9.9 before three months. I took 1mg. Amaryl once a day. My BSL droped from 200 to 85 within two weeks. Then I suffered from having hypoglycemia as it goes to 3.8 (68). I stopped taken any medications for two weeks and I still have hypoglycemia. I am under diet and I exercise daily. My BSL reading fasting ranges from 4.8 to 5.5 and after meals it goes as up to 200 after two hour but it drops to 5 after 3 hour. Pls. any suggestions? Do you think it was good to quit taking medication and go on having diet and exercise?

I am 40 yr, m, 160ibs, and 5'11. I dont smoke or drink at all. Thank you...

Things should settle down soon. I've been off all medication, treating my diabetes with diet and exercise alone, since December. It's a little rough, at first, but keep up the low carb diet, eat lots of healthy natural foods.... particularly bananas, apples, and a wide range of other raw fruits and vegetables. Get at least twenty minutes a day of moderate exercise.

Yes, I think it was an excellent idea quittting the drug. I haven't felt this good in many years.

4.8 and 5.5 are perfectly good reading. Hypoclycemia is anything under 3.5.
