Can stress drastically affect your immune system? |
Growing up and through college, I had a really good immune system. I got sick maybe once a year. Now, I think it must be horrible. I graduated from college a year ago and started a job last December. Naturally, I have more stress. For a while, I had some crazy mood swings- I'd be happy one minute, furious the next. But it's been several months since I've had awful mood swings and I eat a lot better now than I ever have (lots of fruits, vegetables, water) and I exercise fairly regularly. Yes it is proven that stress can lower your white bloodcell count therefore rendering your immune system unrealiable. Yes, stress can make your immune system weaker. It can also contribute to making stomach ulcers worse (so don't get an ulcer!) Stress does affect your immune system. More stress = weaker immune system. |
