How long will stress delay your period? |
My last period was on January 5th, and it ended on time. Now It's February 16, and I still didn't get my period. Last time I had sex was on January 23rd and yes, it was protected. HPT was taken the following week (January 29(?) and on February 13; both came out negative. The more stressed you are, the longer it will delay. Usually it is only a few days, but sometimes stress will cause you to miss it all together. If you are a teenager it often very irregular and could be normal. However if you normally have a very regular period you should go to your doctor if it does not come in a few days. Other causes for delayed period include weight gain or loss, lots of exercise, or new medications. |
