Stressed out alot, need help!?

I've been feeling really stressed and overwhelmed lately and cant calm myself down at all. my parents recently split up and i took it pretty badly, and my college work is really piling up. I feel like i cant talk to anyone about it, not even my boyfriend (we've been together 5 years.)

i also worry alot. my dad is probably going to lose his job so i dont know where he is going to live coz he cant afford rent and stuff. he is also an alcoholic, and he kinda counts on me for support when hes down.

i also used to suffer with depression and was a self harmer, so that is always in the back of my mind.

what do i do?? i ahve tried counselling before and it didnt help at all. i also cant afford it right now. any suggestions????

by the way, i am 20, and i do not blame myself for my parents splitting up :)

also, there is no chance of my dad getting help, he has been this way for a long time and we offered to help him but he just wasnt strong enough, that is why my mum left him.

i just dont understand why my life has ended up this way. i am stuck between a rock and a hard place and cant figure out a way out. i have alot of friends, but i am just not happy. ever. not even with my boyfriend, even though i love him. :(

Stress treatments appear in section 42 at ezy build, below. A certain level of stress is unavoidable, in modern society, so it is a good idea to develop effective coping methods. Light to moderate daily exercise helps fight stress. For some people, it helps to visualise a quiet, relaxing scene (imagine, as vividly as you can, that you are on a tropical beach, reclining comfortably; you luxuriate, as the the sun warms you, and a gentle breeze caresses your skin lightly, inhaling the tangy, sea scented, salt laden spray from the sparkling, translucent, aqua waves, crashing on the white, coral beach sand, and feeling the hot sand slip through your fingers in one hand, sipping your favorite drink with the other; all the while, the seagulls call, swoop and cavort playfully overhead in a cloudless, azure sky: you feel just like one of them, free to soar and cartwheel, or just glide in the moist, heavy air, and that this moment will last forever ... ).

Relaxation Hypnosis & http://www.meditainment.com/stress-buste... Consumption of 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily; (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or its FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. The supplement DHEA is thought to counter the stress hormone, Cortisol. Ginseng & Lady's Slipper are recommended herbal remedies: see section 55, at ezy build, below. Practice daily, of one of the relaxation techniques in sections 11, 2, 2c, or 2i; whichever works best for you, but the mindfulness breathing for 15 - 20 mns is ideal, although the progressive muscle relaxation can be learned quickly, and takes only several minutes, if pressed for time. At www.amazon.com/ there are: "sounds of the ocean", & "ambient rain sound", & "mountain river sounds" via the searchbar.

You could repeat: "I feel calm" and/or "I can handle this." , or employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you massage/tap your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o refer. "Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, I deeply and completely accept myself". A variant of EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, insomnia, and anxiety, is shown in section 42, on page i, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris I have found that the 2 - 3 minutes spent using the EMDR markedly reduces distractions to the relaxation process, and is well worthwhile. You can also multitask, using the gazing technique, as you walk/jog or exercise, by focusing on a distant object, or just focus awareness on how each step feels, noting any thoughts which flash across your mind, without pursuing any particular train of thought, just gently redirect your focus to the task at hand.

i'm no mental health expert, but first don't worry about things until they happen. its not going to do you any good worrying about your dad loosing his job, because in all honesty there is very little you can do to prevent it if it is going to happen(if it even does).

if you want my advice, learn to say "F**k it" once in a while.
life will go on, different, no better no worse, just different.

No matter what, life still goes on..... Try not to worry about what is not in your control. As far as school goes, if you do bad just take the class(es) again鈥攕chool will always be there. You can only do what you can and try to slow down a little and be happy for the things you do have going on it life right now.

Hi, sounds like you've had a lot to deal with, and you don't get any support. Counselling could help. With counselling the time has to be right for you also you must find the right counsellor that suits you (one you like).

There are lots of cheap and free services out there that provide counselling. Support groups?

You could try other therapies or go see you GP for free counselling.

Relax, your parents didn't break up because of you (most kids think that. I did at one point) Try to get away every few days, Hang out with friends, Try not to think about it. At night, take calming baths, Use incense or calming candles (They sell those) and Just try not to think about it all the time.

Exercise and diet can help somewhat in relieving stress. The best exercises to relieve stress are walking and any form of aerobic exercise that makes you sweat for at least half an hour. The best diet is high in green vegetables and fish with omega-3 fatty acids.

this works, if you work it, and it is free

You have an awful lot going on for you right now don't you?
Ok firstly would there be any hope of your father getting help for the alchoholosm, because that would probably take some weight off you.
Secondly, Ive been to many a counsellor and couldnt find a good one but I did recently so dont give up on that idea,I know financially it can be a push but does your college have any kind of free counselling service I know mine does.
Also have you considered anti-depressants? They can help alot so maybe you should talk to your doctor.
I was wondering aswell why you feel like you cant talk to your boyfriend? If you've been together for 5 yrs I'm sure he loves you very much, let him take care of you for a change because it seems like your taking care of everyone else and I know just how tiring that is,best wishes and good luck.
