Need a way to relieve stress before I start smoking again?!?


I was a smoker for 5 years and I have been off the cigarettes since new years day. I'm in university and I'm starting my end of year exams tomorrow. I'm really stressed about it and I'm really tempted to have a smoke! Any ideas on something else to relieve stress. Any advice is a help.

Stress... hmm... Maybe sex :) . Have a little soft ball and throw it to the wall. Or throw it from your right hand to the left, then left to right again, again and again... Or even squeeze it :) . You could also start listening to different kinds of music... I assume it will be interesting and that it will change yourself... Or even start a sport or a hobby generally, like basketball, or reading mystery books, it will be allright... Or start getting out a lot with your friendds when you don't have to study, so that you relax somehow. And talk to them... A lot!!! And please, don't start smoking again... Just think of all that harm it does to you!!!

You haven't just waisted FIVE years to start it again, have you?? Cigarette RUIN your life!! My father was a smoker for all his life and now he can NOT walk! And he knows if he stops smokine he'll fell better, but he preferes the wheelchair to stopping smoking! You can choose too- wheelchair or a cigarette!

In te mean time to relax you can try some exercises, they will exhsaust you and you won't feel hungry, thirsty and craving a smoke. Try some boxing or jogging.

running is a good way i find
you get fitter and it gives you time to think about things and you can also take your stress out on running because i find i run better when im stressed or angry :)

Don't put a cigarette in your hand or you'll smoke it and be back to square one. Exercise instead. Doesn't have to be an intense workout. You might also like to try hard candies.

Yoga, green tea, Tai chi, Chai tea (lol), nicotine gum/aids.

If you feel there's something missing from your hand, put in a carrot. Healthier for you but would feel the same.

Hang out with your friends if they don't smoke

sex... or go for a drive and listen to really loud music while you sing along with it. good luck

Play video games like sport or action online competitively it really helps! =]
