What should I do to make my girlfriend less stressed about getting an abortion? |
I really love my girlfriend and I am worried she may be pregnant. If she is she will be getting an abortion. I know this is extremely stressful for a woman and I don't want our relationship to end over it. I want to know what I can do to be a source of comfort for her during this difficult time. She means the world to me and I was able to I'd take the pain that come with an abortion for her. Please help I'm scared shitless. Please ignore the people who have criticised you and your girlfriend for wanting an abortion-- their comments had absolutely nothing to do with your question and they have no right to answer. I agree with the comments that maybe you should buy the pregnancy test for her and take it together. If she is pregnant ensure that you are both 100% sure that you want to have an abortion as there will be no turning back. I have known a couple of people who have had abortions and it is the mental/emotional pain rather than the physical pain which has affected them both afterwards. If and/or when she has the abortion make sure that you are there with her and take care of her afterwards-- I'm sure that your relationship will be tested and strained after the operation so just listen to her and try to be as understanding as you can. I know that it is your child also but it will affect the both of you very differently and you will both be needing each other. It's muder you know and she has the right to be upset over it. Abortion isn't something that people take lightly. Don't expect her to just get over it. It should be illegal. Murder is you know! Show her that you are willing to take responsibility. Go out and buy the pregnancy test for her. Tell her that you will take full responsibility for birth control from now on, buy the condoms and spermicidal foam and use them. If she feels she isn't alone in these decisions and actions anymore, your relationship will have a better chance of recovering. If she is pregnant then first of all discuss this with her and your Doctor and make sure it is the right thing to do for you and her. Seek councelling afterwards, support her at all times with her decision and importantly, use an effective method of birth control if you don't want to have children so you don't go through the same situation again. Good luck Take note: If she is stressing over an abortion.....she doesn't really want one. DON'T push her. It's HER decision! I am pro-choice...to a point. I was forced to have one and have never forgotten it. It was THE MOST traumatic thing in my life. That was 14 years ago. The two of you should talk about it ONLY after you have found out that she definately is pregnant. NEVER make decisions about another human being's life before it has even began. Statistically speaking, your relationship is much more likely to end after an abortion than if you allowed your child to live. If you really care about your girlfriend, you will encourage her not to put herself at risk and not to kill your son or daughter. Let her know that you will be there for her and the child and support both of them.
