How can I tell if I am getting altziemiers? or just stressed out? I'm 46.? Wow this is an important question. Remember some of the symptoms of Alzheimer's can be similar to other illnesses such Multiple Sclerosis which can in fact strike in one's mid 40's, or Lyme Disease which can develop at any time. A new screening test you can do immediately at home is to see how many fruits or animals you can remember in one minute. This test from York University is NOT definitive, but is a simple and accurate screening technique. See the first link below. Normal recall is 20, borderline is 15, below 10 may signify trouble according to some researchers. Hate to use a clich茅, but you should consider talking to your primary physician and discussing your concerns. If you do not have a physician, call the main number at your local hospital and ask for "the physician referral line". You can also do this on many hospital web sites. If your resources are limited, call your town or city health department and explain your situation. You can also read more about your concerns at reputable medical sources online. See links below. You are about my age and i feel that way too. You can see a doctor but statistics along with your age are probably in your favor. |
