Is it possible for a patient to have stroke, though his blood pressure is maintained? |
if a person is hypertensive but he takes his daily maintenance and his daily average blood pressure is 120/80., is still any tendency to have stroke? I may not be correct but here is my guess. I would say that yes, it is possible. Blood pressure is not always involved, but rather raises the risk for a stroke. A stroke is more so just a blood clot that locks or plugs a blood vessel in the brain, or a blood vessel that breaks and bleeds into the brain. So if you have a blood clot, it may be due to other factors that may not even be related to high blood pressure. My grandma was in good health and had no indication through medical tests etc that she was at risk for a stroke, yet it happened to her one day without warning. I have learned that even babies in the womb can be at risk for a stroke! So i guess what Im saying, is that yes, anything is possible and may happen unexpectedly. I wouldn't say there there is no risk of stroke, just less risk. Some groups of people such as black men are more likely to have a stroke anyway due to genetics. there is always a chance of stroke with anyone. there are many reasons strokes occur. not all are related to blood pressure. Fairly good blood pressure but a tad high on diastolic. But yes he could have a stroke. Blood pressure is taken sitting or laying down at rest. Climb a few stairs and the blood pressure could rise 50 points. Age and what that medication is would be help in determining risk. And the big factor is often blood clots, mainly in the legs. One breaks free strokes often occur. Of course... he could throw a clot or have an intracranial bleed. |
