My father recently had a stroke. He lives alone his Dr. says he needs someone to look after him 24/7.?

Is there any financial help available to assist with hiring someone to look after him.

You need to get help from a social worker, a church or someone that knows how to apply for Access or Medicaid. It takes a while to get through the system, but people do it everyday. Sounds like your Dad is now disabled, so you shouldn't have problems qualifying.

u can hire a caretaker.look in the newspaper/phone books for people

Look into his files and check for a Long Term Policy. What type of insurance does he have. Do you need a LVN or a CNA to come in for th ecare? Many time you can get a qualified CNA to come in through a home health care company.
Whoever cares for you parent, please make sure you have them background and drug checked.

In this country, good luck. If he is not on SS now, too young for example and no health insurance/disability, you are limited to Social Services. Contact the hospital or rehab center that just released him for your aide answer. Few will come in home 24/7 unless they are live in caregivers.
