If a person has a stroke, would he/she be talking on the phone the next day?

A couple of months ago, my twin sister called me, & she said she had a stroke. I wonder how she got out the hospital so early. Instead of resting, she tried to keep me on the phone for EIGHT hours! & then, my brother said she was faking it because he said that the paramedic told him, "If she was REALLY having a stroke, then she would NOT respond to this." & he put something near her nose, & my brother said she inhaled it like she was gettin HIGH or something.

She may or may not have been telling the truth, but if she's lying, that's nothing to play with. I had 2 strokes @ age 5. & she's notorious for making fun of my weaknesses, flaws, misfortune, & setbacks. I don't know if she was trying to play mind games or what. But what made me believe her was the fat that I had 2 strokes @ age 5, & my mom had a stroke shortly after we experienced Hurricane Katrina.

Do you think my twin sister was lying or telling the truth? I'm confused, & I'm gullible & fall for & believe everything.

It's according to the type of stroke that has been experienced by the individual. I had a TIA or Transcient Ischemic Attack. I didn't even know what it was called. I found out that although it is a serious thing, it is a "moving clot" that offers no real problem for the time being. If it stops in a spot where it can create a real problem, then the person is rendered helpless and may even die. Yes, a person can be up and talking, walking and everything, the same day and the next. It happened to me.

My minister suggested that I pray, on a daily basis, and keep a bottle of the dark apple cider vinegar on hand. She suggested that I drink a tablespoon of vinegar every day in a large glass of water. What it does is dilute the plaque that is within the blood vessel walls of the capillaries, veins and arteries. This I did in May 1992 and it has continued to serve me well.

I wish you peace.

There is what is known as TIA or Transient Ischemic Attack, also called a mini stroke. When someone experiences this it may not be obvious. However, you know your sister best....

well, i don't know if your sister is lying or not but...
people can talk on the phone after a stroke. it depends on what part of the brain the stroke is affecting. also there are TIA's which are like a mini stroke which people very often don't have severe effects from. i have no idea about he smelling/sniffing thing the paramedic did they are usually pretty good about that kind of thing but they are not doctors either..

you need to listen to your heart.

It sounds like she wants attention. Can you throw some love her way, and when she calms, maybe she will back down on the stroke claim.

People can have strokes and not even realize they had one.
Strokes are in varying degrees. It is mostly from not getting enough oxygen and blood to the brain.
I know some people who will rush to the ER if they twist their ankle and it takes a few seconds for them to be able to put pressure on their foot again. Many people get scared over anything out of the norm. She may have been over reacting.
I knew a lady that would have strokes that would paralyze her
one side of her face. She refused to go to the hospital because she said all they ever did for her was tell her to go home and relax.
